Critic's Reviews

Critic's Pick:

Intelligent design subdivides a cavernous room into four intimate spaces; mood lighting romances upscale College Street habitu's. The menu ranges over familiar Italian-inspired trends...The serious (in breadth and markup) nine-page wine booklet skews heavily toward $100 and up, though affordable vintages are available. Smart service.

Suggested Plates

On the Menu:

Apps offer the usual suspects, with a nod to Asia in ahi tuna sushi style, sesame-crusted and swiftly grilled, still raw within, accompanied by soya sauce and pickled ginger. Surprisingly subtle beef carpaccio marinated in port, brandy and marsala mercifully betrays no over-refrigeration. A broad selection of pastas and risottos suffers from a repetition of sauces. Lobster ravioli in spicy lemon-saffron sauce pleasingly maintains balance, though inadequate lobster flavour and an unexpected shell fragment disappoint. Among mains, a marsala cream sauce creates an indelicate sweetness on veal scaloppine. Baileys-flavoured creme brûlée, sporting a delicate glucose shell, is superb.
